Martin Pohl

Martin is a personal injury attorney who grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. He dedicates his law practice to helping people in his hometown and throughout the state pursuing compensation for their injuries. Martin received his legal training at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, from which he graduated Cum Laude. As partner of Hessig & Pohl, he handles many different types of personal injury cases including car and truck accidents, slip and falls, animal attacks and workers’ compensation.

Prior to becoming a personal injury attorney, Martin worked as a licensed insurance agent. He gained firsthand knowledge about the ins and outs of the insurance world, which he now applies to his legal practice. After serving as a prosecutor in Louisville, Martin decided to become a lawyer to give a voice to those who feel voiceless.

Martin is experienced in pushing back against large insurance companies to pursue just compensation for his clients. Through the years Martin has recovered millions of dollars from insurance companies and prides himself on providing quality legal representation to people with injury claims. He particularly enjoys hearing about how they are able to use the financial support to improve their lives after an accident.

Some recent highlights for Martin and Hessig & Pohl have been a 2016 wrongful death case involving a cement mixer that resulted in a seven-figure settlement and a motorcycle injury case in 2017 that yielded a $900,000 settlement for the client. In 2018, the firm obtained a seven-figure settlement in a truck injury case. Although such cases with large monetary settlements may be more newsworthy, Martin especially enjoys the rewarding feeling that comes with helping clients get great results on smaller cases.
