Rick is a personal injury attorney based in Louisville, Kentucky. As a partner of Hessig & Pohl, Rick handles car wrecks, truck wrecks, motorcycle wrecks, and any kind of personal injury case where a person is victimized by someone else’s negligence. He vigorously fights for injured people throughout the United States, to keep large insurance companies held accountable to pay for the pain and suffering.

Rick graduated from the University of Louisville and earned his law degree at Brandeis School of Law, at the University of Louisville. Before becoming an attorney, Rick spent over 20 years working as a professional private investigator for insurance defense companies. His experience as a professional investigator means he has an in-depth understanding of how insurance companies operate. Rick’s combined legal training and investigative skills provide a unique advantage for Hessig & Pohl clients. He knows how to thoroughly investigate a claim and locate witnesses or video evidence to help a client prove their case. He doesn’t let the insurance company “hide the ball!”

Rick grew up in Fairdale, a small, mostly blue collar town on the outskirts of Louisville. His parents both worked in a factory at General Electric, and he grew up watching them give their all to make ends meet. He believes everyone should be represented equally, and, when an accident and injury create additional financial hardship, the insurance companies need to be held responsible.

Lastly, and maybe most importantly, Rick supports hardworking people through his volunteer work with local neighborhood groups. If you belong to a local neighborhood group that helps kids, please contact Rick and let him know how he can get involved!
